Standard Finishes

WAXED We offer to apply a wax coating free of charge. If this finish is chosen, the wax seals the surface of the metal and prevents it reacting with the air and developing a tarnish/patina. However if you not wish the patina to develop, the wax will need to be re-applied after installation and again in around 4-6 weeks time. As wax builds up on the surface it will then not need waxing as often (for normal usage).

UNWAXED If you chose to have your bath or basin un-waxed, then the bath surface will naturally develop a patina over a period of use/time, the copper will turn to a lovely deep rich brown colour. If you wish to maintain an untarnished finish this can be achieved using a metal polish and we would recommend Autosol metal polish as a suitable product to achieve this. With un-waxed nickel plated finishes, you must not leave damp towels/flannels on the nickel surface as they will permanently damage it.

Care Instructions

UNWAXED COPPER & NICKEL Clean with warm soapy water and a nonabrasive cloth. Dry immediately after use. Avoid dripping taps, sharp objects, the use of abrasive products and harsh chemicals. If the item has not been waxed, maintain the polished finish with the use of Autosol metal cleaner in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as and when required.
